About Me

Ehehe... my vile corruption of a breathless quote by that ballerina in Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her"... from the earth the ethereal, from beasts flowers, and from man woman and vice versa...
Something Lovely

Watched "Nightwatch" and "The Brothers Grimm". The former a Russian good-versus-evulle flick seething with vampyres and wrapround shades in a very modern, dirtily chic set, an interesting cast, and a nice plot dripping cliches so old they are refreshing. Brothers Grimm zings with the lunatic, lush, looping virtuosic inspiration of Terry Gilliam. The sets teem with tiny detail, Monica Bellucci glows with incandescent beauty, and Lena Headey trots through the enchanted forest with the darting, alert elegance of a half-tame deer. Old enchantments, runes, symbols in a clearing, safe paths through the woods, the power of old words, vapours upon the air, charms bound with a strong spell, a weathered wayfarer, mists in a lonesome place, paw tracks, signs of wisdom made with the hand.
