The day before yesterday Settler's Cafe lots of games with lots of people (Jol, WJ, Clinton, Huiling, Suifang, Darryl and Aili), then late night tv at Andrew's house followed by nattering and observing persons playing ze mahjong (Sean, Andrew, all the above people except Suifang). Ehehe. Yesterday shoppinge. Today lunch at Le Petit Breton (just along U. Thomson Rd), mains I had Provencale and Cheese and J Sausage and Egg, then for pudding (ehehe) I the Caramel Apple while J partook of ze Hot Chocolate Banana. Table behind a woman talking as if the world were deaf. We each had a tiny china cup of cider, $6 a pop, mine with a temperate alcohol content of 1% while the inebriate J downed his 4% wetly.
Was shown an anti-communist manifesto running into many pages, souvenir stamps of the horsey royal pair, and various photos and such. I told the Asian woman my crepe "Wonderful," and the ang moh man looked pleased, sang, "Thank you for your veseete!" as we exited. Then to the Asian Civilisations Museum for Gandhara, exhibition of Buddhist sculptures from Pakistan, then the Empress Place for Journey of Faith, some demi-treasures from the Vatican Museums. Kind of sedate. Of note only an oil of St. Somebody and a boy, and St. Francis Xavier tripping along a path as beams of gold shine from a miraculous sky.
Dinner with W at Ding Tai Feng, thence to Geylang for fried things and soya bean, W recounting things of much intereste, and then various places where denizens of a certain sort might possibly linger. J kindly effected safe, airconditioned conduct.
