About Me

Ehehe... my vile corruption of a breathless quote by that ballerina in Pedro Almodovar's "Talk to Her"... from the earth the ethereal, from beasts flowers, and from man woman and vice versa...
Something Lovely

Listening to Cleo Laine (Dame) singing "Sometimes When We Touch". Know her from "The Last of the Blonde Bombshells" which has Dame Judi Dench, and the wrinkled and trying hard to be Gallic (not dame) Leslie Caron, of Gigi fame. Old broads and Bilbo Baggins (the actor, that is). Sedate but enjoyable. Also realised superiority of cinema over the printed word (sometimes). Was flipping through "Wizard of Earthsea", and realised how much better the ending would be if on screen, in Glorious Technicolor. I wish I could make a movie. I can just imagine it, a paean to and parody of everything I have ever adored, frenetic montages and ageing actresses and lithe young things, irreverence and meaningful irrelevances and silliness and cleverness and singing and dancing and plot twists and astounding artificiality and beauty.
