Just watched "Chicago", and Catherine ZJ scorches the screen like a zillion supernovas. Renee Z, erm, well the light catches her face badly... but she acts, which counts for something I suppose. Queen Latifah slinks like a fat boa. Richard Gere dances like a gigolo not. The overall mood is nice, though, and the smokey aesthetics do evoke a leetle of what flapper-era sin cities might've looked like, except I'm sure leather bondage suits weren't exactly used on people then... and that Hungarian disappearing act thingey recalls Bjork or what? They try to sing... Catherine succeeds, Renee gets off the hook, and Gere trades his smarmy bass for a snarly whine. If only Sinatra were alive.
